An odd, yet cute friendship between an owl & a kitten has customers at a coffee shop in Osaka cooing & Japan's internet users buzzing.
The Hukulou Coffee shop – named after the Japanese word "owl" – houses the pair of animals. Fuku-chan, a five-year-old owl, has struck up a friendship with Marimo, a two-month old Scottish Fold kitten.
Marimo & Fuku-chan received off to a fantastic start after the coffee shop owners brought home the kitten as a playmate, & the rest, as they say, is history.
Hukulou Coffee owner Ritsuko Nagahara said that the pair were put together because they looked alike, yet now they're inseparable.
Pictures of them sleeping together or seemingly kissing dominate the twitter search feed for the Japanese word for owl & have been taken up by multiple bloggers & online news sites.
While the pair have a loving relationship, they can't resist a satisfactory play-fight every once in a while either.
