India opener Vijay fined for dissent

NEW DELHI (AP) — India opener Murali Vijay has been fined 30 percent of his match fee for showing dissent at an umpiring decision in the ongoing fourth & final test against South Africa.

Vijay was controversially given out after being caught behind off pace bowler Morne Morkel on Saturday. The batsman gestured to the umpire that the ball had hit his arm guard & was clearly unhappy at his dismissal.

Vijay, who has scored 210 runs in an overall low-scoring series, was charged with a level one offence of the ICC code of conduct.
