Four men have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to spring two convicts from a prison van, during which a man was shot dead by police.
The men have all been charged with trying to assist Izzet Eren, 32, & Erwin Amoyaw-Gyamfi, 29, escape on their way to Wood Green Crown Court in north London on Friday.
A 28-year-old British man from Tottenham was killed during the incident outside the court.
Nathan Mason, Gokay Sogucakli, Ozcan Eren & Eren Hayser were all arrested following the police operation.
Eren, 31, of Douglas Road, Wood Green, & Hayser, 25, of Kettering Road, Enfield, have now been charged with conspiracy to aid the escape of the two prisoners.
Mason, 30, of Vicarage Road, Tottenham, & Sogucakli, 19, of the Roundway, Tottenham, face the same charge, as well as possessing an imitation firearm & using a motor vehicle taken without the owner's consent.
All four are due to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court after today.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission & Directorate of Professional Standards – the Metropolitan Police's internal watchdog – are investigating the shooting.
Izzet Eren & Amoyaw-Gyamfi were arrested by armed police while riding a stolen motorbike in north London on 13 October.
They were intercepted en route to "kill, or maim or wound" an unnamed person & were found to be carrying a Skorpion sub-machine gun & Tokarev handgun.
They pleaded guilty to charges of possessing guns & ammunition with intent to endanger life, aggravated vehicle-taking & a driving offence at a previous hearing.
The pair, who have a string of prior drug & violence convictions, were both jailed on Friday for 14 years.
Sentencing the men, Judge Nicholas Browne QC said the gravity of gun crime "could not be overstated".
